In 1998, Tom and Jennifer Kennett created Tail Feather Farm, a small-scale farm featuring vegetables/flowers, landscaping, maple sugaring and poultry. Our farm gained its start in the White River Valley of Rochester, Vermont. Growing with change and accommodating our family needs led us to make its home on the former Hunt Family Farm, a historical 1880’s farm located on 29 acres in Middlebury/New Haven, Vermont.
Farming runs deep in our family. Both Tom and Jennifer were raised on their family's farms. It was of great importance to them that their own children had the opportunity to be farm kids. We farm as a family with strong passionate hearts, gentle yet strong hands. We care deeply for our animals and the land. All our animals are humanely raised in Addison County. We offer grass grazed, brew grain finished beef, poultry and pork all year round. We offer fresh eggs and vegetables, when in season.
Our farm suppers, farm camps, and riding lessons can be enjoyed seasonally, by all ages. We are committed to local agriculture, and our community at large.
To produce safe healthy foods and crops for our community and our family. To educate others about the importance of local food and farm. We remain good stewards of the land, while humanely caring for our animals. Taking pride in making our living off of the land and working with our animals, while supporting our family farm heritage. Maintaining a sustainable business that provides a return to our family, investors, partners, and community is of great importance to us.
